Professor Paunescu a degree in Chemistry at the University of Bucharest (1995), Bachelor of Commerce from ESA (1997), holds a Postgraduate in Quality Management from the Academy (1998) and obtained her PhD in Economics at ASE (2003 ). He has also studied and carried out research at universities in Italy, Sweden, Belgium, France and the USA. In 2002, Carmen obtained the "Government of Romania Scholarship" at the University of Rome Sapienza, Italy, and in 2004, she obtained the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship at Loyola University New Orleans, LA, USA.
