Carmen Paunescu is a professor of entrepreneurship at the UNESCO Department for Business Administration, Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest (ASE), Romania. Professor Paunescu a degree in Chemistry at the University of Bucharest (1995), Bachelor of Commerce from ESA (1997), holds a Postgraduate in Quality Management from the Academy (1998) and obtained her PhD in Economics at ASE (2003 ). He has also studied and carried out research at universities in Italy, Sweden, Belgium, France and the USA. In 2002, Carmen obtained the "Government of Romania Scholarship" at the University of Rome Sapienza, Italy, and in 2004, she obtained the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship at Loyola University New Orleans, LA, USA.

PhD academic supervisor in Business Administration (since 2011). Professor of Entrepreneurship, Quality and Innovation (since 2008) with over 27 years of academic experience. Associate Editor of Management and Marketing. Over 50 peer-reviewed articles, books and book chapters. Dr. Păunescu’s research interests lie in the areas of entrepreneurship and innovation, quality culture and business continuity, energy management and digital transformation. Since 2011, 12 doctoral theses have been defended under her supervision, covering topics that concerned the development of sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation across various areas. In the last decade, Dr. Păunescu was an expert and local coordinator of several Erasmus+ projects: CLLC–Community Learning for Local Change; VISEnet–Village social enterprise: learning material, guidance and networking; RuralCOM–Joint Master’s Curriculum in Rural Community Development. She also led the WG2 Higher Education Institutions, social change and transformation as part of the COST Action CA 18236 Multidisciplinary innovation for social change.
