Mireille Rădoi

Dr. Mireille Rădoi is serving as General Director of the Central University Library “Carol I,” Romania’s most prominent institution of its kind, since 2010. As the first woman to hold this position since its establishment in 1891, she has spearheaded numerous research initiatives, including the landmark LIB2LIFE project, which focuses on reviving libraries and cultural heritage through advanced technology. Her professional trajectory includes significant roles in both the public and private sectors, such as Expert for the Romanian Parliament, Business Development Manager at Saatchi & Saatchi and Computas Romania, Director of the National Cybersecurity Incident Response Centre (CERT-RO), and Romanian representative to the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA). She has also been Associated professor at the National Defence College. Currently she is Associate Professor at the University of Economic Studies of Bucharest. Dr. Rădoi is the President of the “Carol I” Foundation and the visionary behind Strada de C’Arte, one of Romania’s renowned outdoor festivals celebrating the arts, now in its fourteenth edition.

A scholar and author, Dr. Rădoi has contributed to over 20 books, addressing topics ranging from knowledge management and intercultural communication to strategic decision-making and national security. She has delivered keynote speeches at prestigious international forums, including the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), the Annual Convention of the International Studies Association (ISA), and UNESCO’s GUNi Humanities Conference. With a Ph.D. in Political Science and a background in psycho-sociology, her expertise is further enhanced by international accolades, including a dual scholarship from the University of California San Diego (Fulbright & US State Department) and certifications from institutions such as the Canadian Security Intelligence Service and Germany’s Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND). Her interdisciplinary insights and leadership exemplify a commitment to advancing knowledge, cultural preservation, and innovation.
