Carmen Paunescu is a professor of entrepreneurship at the UNESCO Department for Business Administration, Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest (ASE), Romania. Professor Paunescu a degree in Chemistry at the University of Bucharest (1995), Bachelor of Commerce from ESA (1997), holds a Postgraduate in Quality Management from the Academy (1998) and obtained her PhD in Economics at ASE (2003 ). He has also studied and carried out research at universities in Italy, Sweden, Belgium, France and the USA. In 2002, Carmen obtained the "Government of Romania Scholarship" at the University of Rome Sapienza, Italy, and in 2004, she obtained the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship at Loyola University New Orleans, LA, USA.

Prof. Paunescu has completed various training programs for the teaching staff, such as: European Entrepreneurship Colloquium on Participant-Centered Learning – EECPL 2007, Harvard Business School, Boston, USA; International Management Teachers Academy – IMTA 2008, Central and Eastern European Management Development Association, Bled, Slovenia; and European Entrepreneurship Colloquium – EEC 2009, European Foundation for Entrepreneurship Research, Maastricht, The Netherlands.Starting with 2011 Carmen is a full member of the higher economic education in the Bucharest – Ilfov Regional Consortium, coordinated by the National Center for the Development of Vocational and Technical Education.Currently, Carmen Paunescu teaches at ASE the following courses in English – Quality and performance in business and Business Negotiation at the Bachelor programs, Entrepreneurship and business development at the Master programs and Energy Management Systems, Entrepreneurship and Negotiations at the MBA programs.In 2011 Prof. Paunescu obtained the title of doctoral supervisor in the field of PhD in Business Administration. She is currently coordinating doctoral theses in various areas of entrepreneurship, in particular social, academic, women’s and senior entrepreneurship. Carmen is the author and co-author of numerous books and chapters in books, as well as scientific articles. Has key competences in the following fields: social entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship, social innovation, business continuity, internal managerial control.
